Job description

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented trader to ensure continuous, accurate market activity in fast-moving environments. This role is essential for maintaining trading integrity, responding rapidly to new information, and identifying opportunities for improvement. The ideal candidate is comfortable working atypical hours (including overnights, weekends and holidays) and has a foundational understanding of trading concepts and decision science.
What you'll do
  • This role focuses on maintaining accurate pricing, continuous liquidity, and orderly market function
  • Continuously monitor trading activity to detect discrepancies with internal fair values and observable market conditions, ensuring prices remain accurate and consistent with available information
  • Track real-time news sources and proactively adjust fair values or update quotes to reflect newly available public information and maintain continuous two-sided liquidity
  • Adjust model or system parameters in response to market conditions, liquidity issues, or evolving trading situations
  • Identify situations which may lead to liquidity gaps or impair orderly trading and document them for research and system improvement
  • Manually manage trading gaps arising from technical failures, model inadequacies, or unexpected market events to maintain operational continuity
  • Escalate production or system issues promptly to technical support teams, providing clear descriptions and context
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends as role demands, with all team members expected to provide occasional coverage

What we're looking for
  • Working knowledge of trading concepts, market mechanics, and basic decision science
  • High reliability and strong work ethic
  • Strong situational awareness and ability to operate effectively in time-sensitive, high-stakes environments
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with trading, research, and engineering teams
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to spot subtle anomalies and quickly assess their impact

What we offer
  • Relaxed dress code (jeans and sneakers are the norm and team jerseys every Friday)
  • Fully stocked kitchens for breakfast, lunch, snacks, and beverages
  • A state of the art fitness facility with brand-new equipment, multi-purpose courts, group exercise classes, and locker room spaces
  • Discounts for dining, entertainment, shopping, travel, and attractions
  • Social events such as a poker tournament, holiday party, company outings, and more
  • On-site services such as a wellness center, mailroom, barber, dry cleaning, and car maintenance
  • Opportunities to give back to the community through Susquehanna sponsored events and donation drives
