Job description

Your Contribution;

The Foreign Trade Analyst / Sr. Foreign Trade Analyst is responsible for ensuring compliance with customs and export control laws and regulations in daily operations. This role ensures that all internal guidelines and procedures are followed.

  • Perform custom related activities in the countries of responsibility at the lowest lawful cost
  • Keep abreast of customs and international trade process changes that may impact operative business activity. Provide guidance and consultation to internal customers
  • Perform operational customs processes in plants across the region, such as; import / export filing and processing, tariff coding and classification of products, origin of goods, preferential calculation, and special export processes
  • Monitor activities of custom brokers and others customs-related service providers
  • Responsible for following compliant export control processes for MAHLE's operations in the region
  • Perform operational export control processes in plants / areas of responsibility, such as; sanctioned party list screening, embargo country check, product related export control classification, and critical end usage
  • Coordinate and communicate governmental regulations to all affected locations and departments
  • Provide support and consultation to various internal business areas, as well as project teams regarding custom affairs
  • Identify and recommend changes to continuously improve business processes
  • Exploration of cost reduction potential by transfer of functions to best cost countries
  • Standardization of all foreign trade processes within the region
  • Participate in external audit processes, provide documentation and information as necessary
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment
  • Act as contact person for the local plant, export control officers, and chief export control officers

 

 

Your Experience & Qualifications;

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering or related field from an accredited four-year college or university preferred, or equivalent related experience
  • Entry Level (Career Band Level 5) typically requires a minimum of 0+ years previous or related experience
  • Intermediate Level (Career Band Level 6) typically requires a minimum of 3+ years previous or related experience
  • Senior Level (Career Band Level 7) typically requires a minimum of 7+ years previous or related experience
  • Ability to identify and solve problems, work within deadlines with high attention to detail, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong business acumen and ability to influence and build relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations
  • Broad understanding of foreign trade and customs principles
  • Advanced computer skills, especially MS Office
