Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Test Engineer to provide Test and Evaluation (T&E) support for the Technical Advisory and Assistance Services (TAAS) program at Hanscom AFB. This is a full‑time position.

Responsibilities
  • Document the review, test concept development, test methodology development, test plan development, test execution, and test reporting, data reduction and analysis, and end‑user operational testing.
  • Identify, propose, and implement opportunities, novel processes, procedures, and methods to expedite the completion of required testing.
  • Apply Design of Experiments methods to plan and conduct test programs.
  • Independently prepare (or direct others in the preparation of) test evaluation and success criteria, computation/analyses, specifications, cost estimates test plans, and technical reports in the specific area of technical expertise.
  • Select and apply engineering and test techniques and procedures to analyze and evaluate specific problem, data, performance, specification compliance, security, resiliency, or other features of the work.
  • Review and evaluate the quantity, quality, and overall adequacy of results and conclusions drawn from accomplishment of test engineering tasks.
  • Devise new and innovative approaches to problems encountered, and accomplish assigned tasks with efficiency, timeliness, and thoroughness.
  • Evaluate the configuration, capability, operational relevance, and limitations of test environments and ensure they are properly available for the thorough testing of software releases (e.g. fault insertion/fault identification).
  • Deconflict schedule conflicts between multiple releases and provide high quality analysis and recommendations to the program test lead.
  • Apply and support digital engineering concepts and techniques throughout the program lifecycle, such as providing technical support to Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to incorporate communications systems and Modular Open System Architectures (e.g. Open Mission Systems) on host platforms with an NC3 mission to enable NC3 modernization. Analysis considerations should include SWAP-C, HW/SW processing environments, and technology limitations.
Qualifications

5+ years experience in test engineering and support. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Plan, coordinate, and implement all activities related to the testing of IT and data center functions. Experience developing test plans and test cases. Possess a broad knowledge of the quality assurance process as it applies to testing and evaluation of software applications and mission systems. Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization. Must be willing to provide hands‑on testing support when necessary. Must be a US Citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.

The projected compensation range for this position is $127,700-$140,200. There are multiple factors that can impact a final salary, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (if remote or different from the stated location for this position), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
