Job description

Ethan Conrad Properties, Inc. (ECP) is one of the most successful and fastest-growing commercial real estate companies in Northern California. We own and manage over 170 commercial properties, including industrial, office, and retail properties. ECP is known for its vertically integrated structure, which enables efficient operations across property management, construction, facilities maintenance, and leasing divisions.

The Roofing Division Supervisor leads a team of 4-6 roofing technicians, ensuring timely completion of roofing repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance in compliance with regulatory and safety standards. They manage work orders in Yardi, monitor NTE budget allocations, and ensure projects are completed on schedule. They also align hours between Yardi and Paylocity, insure timely review and approval of timecards, initiate training and conduct performance reviews to ensure team accountability and growth.


This position is responsible for:

โ€ข ย Receives oral or written work requests and sets priorities
โ€ข ย Assigns personnel to roofing jobs including repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance
โ€ข ย Reviews all work orders in Yardi before and after completion for accuracy, quality, and proper cost allocation
โ€ข ย Maintains budgets, records, and files, and prepares reports related to roofing operations and expenditures
โ€ข ย Supervises major roof repairs, replacements, and new roof installations to ensure work is completed per specifications
โ€ข ย Conducts quality control inspections of roofing work in progress and upon completion to ensure workmanship and compliance standards are met
โ€ข ย Oversees repair and replacement of roofing systems including membranes, shingles, flashing, drainage systems, and structural components
โ€ข ย Monitors not-to-exceed (NTE) limits on work orders and ensures all projects remain within approved budgets
โ€ข ย Reviews the work of contractors and vendors for adherence to scope, safety standards, and quality expectations
โ€ข ย Ensures all roofing work is performed in compliance with applicable safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies
โ€ข ย Instructs staff on proper roofing techniques, safety procedures, and use of tools and equipment
โ€ข ย Maintains accurate records of work orders, labor hours, materials, inventory, and expenditures within Yardi
โ€ข ย Ensures alignment of labor hours between Yardi and Paylocity, including timely review and approval of employee and ย supervisor timecards
โ€ข ย Estimates and orders roofing materials, equipment, and supplies as needed
โ€ข ย Determines appropriate roofing systems, materials, and repair methods based on building requirements and conditions
โ€ข ย Coordinates roofing work with other trades and departments as needed
โ€ข ย Provides technical guidance and support to roofing technicians in the field
โ€ข ย Administers personnel actions including hiring, discipline, promotion, and termination
โ€ข ย Conducts performance evaluations for direct reports and supports employee development
โ€ข ย Performs other duties and special assignments as required to meet the ongoing needs of the departmentย 


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Occupational hazards specific to roofing and related safety precautions, including fall protection and weather considerations.ย 
  • Modern office practices, methods, and computer applications relevant to roofing project management, such as Yardi, Paylocity and Microsoft Office.ย 
  • Ability to select, supervise, and lead roofing staff and crews, including planning, organizing, training, evaluating, and coordinating work in multiple roofing projects.ย 
  • Perform skilled roofing installation, maintenance, and repair work across a variety of roofing systems (e.g., shingles, membranes, flat roofs).ย 
  • Review roofing projects, estimate materials, and identify resources necessary for timely project completion.ย 
  • Respond effectively to changing site conditions, weather impacts, and project requirements.ย 
  • Independently organize roofing work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up on tasks and assignments.ย 
  • Demonstrate strong customer service in interactions with property managers, tenants, and vendors; establish and maintain positive working relationships.ย
