HOST/HOSTESS - JOB DESCRIPTION


The Host at SEIA plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and organized arrival experience for guests, both in the Restaurant and the Club. This position supports the front-door operation by managing greetings, reservations, and seating flow, all while upholding SEIAโ€™s high standards of professionalism and service. Working closely with the Lead Host and FOH leadership, the Host ensures each guest enjoys a smooth and thoughtful journey from arrival to seating.

Responsibilities:
- Warmly and professionally greet guests upon arrival, setting the tone for the SEIA experience.
- Accurately manage reservations and waitlists using platforms like OpenTable or Resy, and provide clear, appropriate wait time estimates.
- Escort guests to their tables with poise, maintaining awareness of pacing, flow, and guest comfort.
- Support seating flow and table assignments under the guidance of the Lead Host and FOH leadership.
- Communicate effectively with the service team to ensure seamless guest transitions and consistent service flow.
- Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly to requests, and escalate concerns when necessary.
- Share guest information, such as VIP status, allergies, and special requests, with the relevant team members.
- Answer phones and manage guest inquiries accurately and professionally.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the host stand, entrance, waiting areas, and menus.
- Ensure menus and guest-facing materials are clean, current, and well-stocked.
- Follow assigned opening and closing procedures for the host stand.
