Lead Host

The Lead Host is responsible for supporting the Host team and ensuring a smooth, welcoming guest experience from arrival to departure. This position acts as a leader on the host stand, helping with guest flow, reservations, seating, communication, and daily host duties.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the Host team during shifts
  • Manage guest check-ins, reservations, waitlists, and seating flow
  • Coordinate and help manage large parties, including setup, communication, and guest needs
  • Assist with large party reservations and ensure details are communicated to the appropriate team members
  • Oversee the retail area, including keeping displays stocked, organized, and presentable
  • Assist guests with retail purchases and provide knowledgeable, friendly service
  • Communicate effectively with Hosts, Wine Tasting Associates, and management
  • Ensure the host stand, entrance, and retail areas remain clean, organized, and welcoming
  • Assist with training and coaching new Hosts
  • Help address guest questions and concerns professionally
  • Monitor the overall guest experience and communicate issues to management
  • Complete opening, closing, and host-stand/retail duties as assigned
  • Set a positive example of Shady Creek’s service standards, professionalism, and teamwork
