As a lead front end developer, you take part in creating and integrating user interfaces, upgrading applications, and working within the company's network. You typically mentor a team of junior to mid-level developers to help build their CSS and HTML skills while completing projects. Qualifications vary but usually include in-depth knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS as well as one or several web frameworks specified by the employer. Lead front end developers gain years of experience in front end development, UI/UX frameworks, coding strategies, and data sciences to qualify. Employers may require a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or Ph.D. in computer engineering or computer science.

What skills are needed to be a lead front end developer?

Familiarity with version control systems like Git, build tools, and continuous integration platforms, as well as experience with testing frameworks, are typically required. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills help you guide your team and collaborate across departments. These skills are crucial for delivering high-quality, scalable user interfaces and ensuring successful project execution in dynamic development environments.

How does a lead front end developer typically collaborate with designers, back-end engineers, and product managers?

As a Lead Front End Developer, you will play a central role in cross-functional collaboration.
