Job description

Overview
Azure wins when our technical attributes show up clearly-in real customer scenarios, grounded in the value our products deliver. And Azure's true differentiation comes through in the combined value of our developer tools, AI, data, infrastructure, security and more as a unified platform. From our most experienced executives to our marketing team and global field organization, they all depend on our ability to consistently, reliably communicate technical value connected customer outcomes.
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Azure Technical Marketing & Lead Demo Marketer to lead development of our Azure demo platform and to build a Demo Center of Excellence (COE) across Azure. This role that operates Azure-wide-partnering closely with leaders across Developer Tools, AI, Data, Azure Infrastructure, and Security teams, while collaborating with marketing partners across Microsoft (including M365 Copilot and others) to bring an integrated product story to life. This demo narrative will surface across flagship 1P events, customer conversations, product launches, analyst engagements, and digital/social outbound communications. This role is also tightly aligned to the Microsoft Executive Briefing Center (EBC)-supporting customer briefings and helping maintain a world-class, on-site demo environment that showcases Azure end-to-end with credibility, reliability, and relevance.
Beyond just demo creation, you will help to build a technical-led culture across Azure where our teams can embrace the depth of the portfolio and integrate real-world customer use cases and product depth into their everyday workflows. You will define what "exec-ready" and "field-ready" looks like for technical storytelling and demos, and you'll build repeatable mechanisms that scale. And with an eye for competitive differentiation, you will identify and communicate the key value in Azure that is showcased in inspiring, scenario-led demos to decision makers in our customers.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Azure Product Marketing, you will operate as the connective tissue across product teams and marketing surfaces-driving alignment, quality, and reuse. Success will be measured by adoption of the demo platform and COE assets, impact in major launch moments and executive engagements, and the ability to consistently translate Azure's technical capabilities into clear, credible customer narratives and demonstrations.
Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day.
Responsibilities
Demo Platform & Demo COE (Strategy, Build, and Operating Model)
    • Lead the strategy and roadmap for an Azure-wide demo platform (content + tooling + repeatable patterns) that makes it easy to build, maintain, and reuse high-quality demos across teams.
    • Establish a Demo Center of Excellence for Azure with clear intake, prioritization, quality bar, governance, and lifecycle management (build, refresh, publish, retire).
    • Partner with engineering and product teams to ensure demos are technically accurate, reliable, and aligned to the product roadmap and top customer scenarios.
    • Create mechanisms that scale: templates, demo "building blocks," standards, and enablement so teams across Azure can contribute while maintaining a consistent bar.

Azure Narrative & Technical Storytelling (Use Cases to Proof)
    • Define and maintain the demo-led narrative for Azure-connecting capabilities across Developer Tools, AI, Data, Infrastructure, and Security into cohesive customer scenarios.
    • Translate customer needs into technical use cases, story arcs, talk tracks, and demo flows that make complex concepts understandable and compelling.
    • Ensure demos and storytelling are consistent across major moments: flagship 1P events, product launches, customer briefings, analyst engagements, digital experiences, and social/outbound content.

Executive Engagement & Major Moments
    • Engage executives to understand their executive voice and priorities; translate technical truth into clear narratives and demos they can confidently use in keynotes, customer meetings, and analyst conversations.
    • Drive cross-team alignment across multiple product groups so major moments land as "one Azure story," not disconnected point solutions.
    • Partner closely with the Executive Briefing Center (EBC) team to support high-stakes customer briefings and repeatable platforms, including readiness of the on-site demo environment and scenario portfolio.
    • Provide on-site support as needed for executive engagements and major events to ensure demos run reliably and represent Azure accurately.
    • Own end-to-end readiness for priority launch moments-proactively building and refreshing the right demos, talk tracks, and supporting assets ahead of time.

Orchestration, Partnerships & Operating Rhythm
    • Operate as a high-trust, high-impact individual contributor who drives outcomes through influence, clarity, and mechanisms across a highly matrixed organization.
    • Establish a repeatable operating rhythm with stakeholders: intake and prioritization, scenario reviews, technical validation, demo Quality Assurance (QA), and launch readiness checkpoints.
    • Build partnerships with product marketing, engineering, and field teams to continuously improve scenario relevance, quality, and reuse.

Enablement, Distribution & Adoption
    • Package demos into exec-ready and field-ready resources (talk tracks, setup guides, scenario context, FAQs) and partner with teams to drive adoption.
    • Create enablement motions (office hours, training sessions, playbooks) that help marketers and field teams incorporate demos and scenario storytelling into their workflows.
    • Build feedback loops and measurement (usage signals, qualitative feedback) to improve demos and ensure the COE focuses on what drives the most customer impact.

Field, Partner & Ecosystem Enablement
    • Ensure platform value and leadership criteria, technical demos translate into actionable value propositions, plays, and guidance for sales, partners, and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs).
    • Own the demo platform strategy aligned to narrative and top customer scenarios; drive readiness and reuse across field sellers, major events, keynotes, and digital surfaces.
    • Build feedback loops with customers, partners, and the field to continuously refine messaging, demos, and GTM motions to increase cross-platform adoption.

Technical Rigor, Credibility & Continuous Improvement
    • Maintain a high bar for technical accuracy and customer relevance-validating claims, architectures, and scenarios with engineering and product teams.
    • Incorporate competitive and market context as needed to ensure demos and narratives highlight Azure's differentiated strengths without over-claiming.
    • Drive continuous improvement by tracking what resonates (and what doesn't) across events, customer conversations, and the field.
