Job description

Responsibility: Machinists program CNC machines to blueprint requirements and set up the machine to begin manufacturing process of the part. Machinists load materials into CNC machines to be shaped. Once the cutting operation is performed the machinist inspects the fabricated part to ensure it matches specifications. Machinists are responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment and may operate multiple machines at any given time.
Job Duties
  • Program machine using SolidCam with help of lead CNC machinist to specifications of part blueprint
  • Set up machine to begin manufacturing process
  • Load materials into CNC machines lifting up to 50 pounds consistently
  • Gauge parts to verify that they meet specification using calipers, micrometers, other quality approved gauging devises as required
  • Notify Supervisor immediately of any deviation or change in part specs or changes to safety guarding or other safety issues (slips, falls, guarding or hand tool issues, etc)
  • Listen for any sounds that may indicate a malfunction
  • Document all issues with production in order to communicate effectively
  • Maintain work area in clean, neat, orderly fashion
  • Must work safely at all times

Qualifications
  • 2+ years prior experience operating CNC machines
  • 1+ year programming experience
  • G & M code knowledge
  • Knowledge of gauging equipment, including micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to communicate issues and problems to others
  • Must enjoy a fast-paced manufacturing environment, results, oriented and self-motivated
  • Committed to continuous improvement principles with the goals of the company in mind at all times
  • Detail oriented with excellent eyesight
  • Capable of work that requires concentration and physical effort
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds (cranes are available)

Special Circumstances
  • Must be available to work flexible hours and on-call hours as required
