Job description

IT Business Analyst Senior

The IT Business Analyst Senior provides strategic business analysis services to business partners and IT teams. This role ensures alignment between business objectives and technology solutions, leveraging Agile methodologies to deliver high-quality outcomes. The analyst collaborates with stakeholders to understand business strategy, processes, and requirements, translating them into actionable deliverables for SCRUM teams.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Interfaces and collaborates with other IT staff in the design of new programs, processes, projects and software. Assist other participants with analysis, validation, application testing, defect tracking, and training as needed. Interfaces with software project team members to assist in all aspects of business requirements and testing activities. Participates in the coordination and monitoring of software development activities. Assist with establishing test procedures and scripts.
  • Lead business requirements analysis, validation, and verification for complex projects.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews.
  • Work closely with Product Owners and SCRUM teams to prioritize backlog items and ensure timely delivery.
  • Produce project documentation including business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, and UAT plans.
  • Conduct change impact analysis and document business rules, functions, and requirements.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives and integrate new systems with existing processes.
  • Elicit requirements through interviews, workshops, and workflow analysis.
  • Ensure alignment between user requirements, technical capabilities, and business objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field
  • Minimum Five (5) years of experience as a Business Analyst in IT projects.
  • Proven experience working in an Agile environment using SCRUM methodology.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles, user story creation, and backlog management.
  • Experience delivering business analysis across SDLC phases using Agile and/or Waterfall.
  • Familiarity with Agile and SCRUM facilitation.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Agile tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Ability to analyze complex business processes and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, and collaboration tools (MS Teams, SharePoint, Jira and Confluence).
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Master's degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Agile certification.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA).
  • Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) or other scaled Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Experience mentoring junior analysts and contributing to Agile maturity within the organization.
