Job description

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Senior Automation Solutions Developer to lead innovative automation initiatives that transform how work gets done across the organization. In this role, you will design and implement scalable solutions using APIs, Microsoft Power Platform, and enterprise technologies to improve operational efficiency and user experience. You will partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, solve complex business challenges, and deliver connected, data-driven solutions that create measurable business impact. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Lead automation initiatives from concept through implementation, delivering scalable solutions that improve operational efficiency and user experience.
  • Design and develop automation solutions leveraging APIs, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), and other enterprise technologies.
  • Evaluate and implement integrations across business applications, data platforms, and operational systems to create connected, data-driven solutions.
  • Apply expertise in system integrations, API architecture, data structures, and low-code/no-code development frameworks to solve complex business challenges.
  • Translate business requirements, process maps, and user needs into scalable automation solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Partner with developers, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and workflow optimization.
  • Assess solution feasibility, effort, resources, and technical approach, and develop plans to meet business timelines.
  • Utilize structured problem-solving and root cause analysis to eliminate inefficiencies and improve operational processes.
  • Ensure solution reliability through testing, monitoring, documentation, governance, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Create reusable automation frameworks, standards, and best practices that accelerate delivery and promote consistency across the organization.
  • Lead change implementation and user adoption efforts to ensure solutions achieve intended business results.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience
    • Previous experience with reporting analytics and data (SQL)
    • Previous programming experience; designing technical solutions experience
    • Experience (or expertise) developing in one or more of the following: Python, Auto Hotkey, JavaScript, Automation Anywhere, UiPath, Blue Prism, SQ
  • Up to 5% travel may be required (domestically and/or internationally)

Preferred:
  • Advanced technical degree, certification, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, or other complex operational environments
  • Experience developing automation, workflow, integration, or digital solutions using platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform, UiPath, or similar technologies
  • Experience with APIs, system integrations, enterprise applications, and connected data ecosystems
  • Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, Azure, analytics platforms, or other data and reporting technologies
  • Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to design scalable solutions that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency
  • Strong problem-solving, process improvement, and root cause analysis capabilities
  • Ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into simple, practical, and sustainable solutions
  • Ability to learn new technologies, tools, and development frameworks and apply them to business challenges
  • Strong communication, listening, stakeholder management, and requirements-gathering skills
  • Experience collaborating with business, analytics, data science, and technology teams to deliver business value
  • Exposure to Agile, Lean, Scrum, Kanban, or other modern product and development methodologies
  • Highly analytical with the ability to leverage data to identify opportunities, measure outcomes, and support decision-making
  • Ability to challenge assumptions, think strategically, and recommend innovative approaches to solving business problems

Compensation Range
$84,800.00 - $191,000.00
