Job description

LVRM is a private, faith-based organization that serves our community by offering a safe place for men and women to break the cycle of homelessness and addiction. The Las Vegas Rescue Mission (LVRM) is hiring for three (3) Lead Security positions. LVRM has a team of Security who operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are a vital part of the Operations Department and help ensure the safety and smooth operation of the Mission, for residents, shelter guests, staff and visitors alike. 

There are three (3) Lead Security positions available; Day Lead, Swing Lead, and Grave Lead. These leads will work with other Security members as well as those on work therapy. They are to be the point person of the designated shift. They report directly to the Director of Safety and Security. 


Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Oversee security team, follow all LVRM policies and procedures regarding safety
  • Oversee intake of clients into programs
  • Responsible for ensuring the safety of all persons on LVRM property. 
  • Promote and demonstrate consistent ability to collaborate with internal departments, problem solve various needs of guests and staff. 
  • Responsible for reviewing previous shifts DAR and following up on any unresolved/ ongoing issues documented from previous shift’s DAR. 
  • Responsible for Work Therapy training
  • Responsible for Work Therapy scheduling 
  • Assist Director with training onboarding staff
  • Act as the after-hours liaison for the Rescue Mission as needed.
  • Liaison for community partners, CPS and law enforcement.  
  • Responsible for leading and organizing the team when faced with an emergency situation. (i.e. fire, plumbing, evacuation, lockdown and when emergency services are called) 


Qualifications

  • Highschool Diploma or GED
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable populations preferred
  • Bilingual Speaking preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook, MS Publisher, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Training in Crisis Intervention/ de-escalation
  • Excellent verbal, written interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Respectful of cultural diversity
  • Ability to demonstrate healthy boundaries, follow safety protocols, and Crisis Intervention/ de-escalation


This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, offering a competitive benefit package and paid vacation.  Salary is commensurate with skills and experience.
