Volunteer Description:

Unpaid volunteer contributing time to Intermountain Healthcare in various roles.

Our dedicated volunteers provide countless hours of exceptional service to patients, visitors, and staff. They are an integral part of our LDS Hospital family, providing valuable support in a variety of departments throughout the hospital.

This is an unpaid position that gives you the opportunity to use your talents, meet new people and experience the pleasure that comes from making a difference in people's lives.

We are looking for caring and compassionate individuals to serve in such areas as:

Surgical Waiting Room - Keeping family updated with information regarding their family member who is having surgery

Gift Shop- Assisting customers with their purchases, pricing items and using the cash register

Front Information Desk - Engaging with individuals entering the hospital, assisting with wayfinding and escorting to appointments

Women's Services Reception Desk - Assisting visitors presenting to see patients in L&D, Newborn and Special Care Nurseries

Endoscopy Clinic - Assisting patients/staff in the Endoscopy Clinic and meeting their needs

Department - other department volunteer opportunities as needed

Music - Playing piano, violin or other musical instrument in the hospital lobby

Qualifications:

The volunteer program requires a six-month commitment, with a minimum of presenting for a 3-4 hour shift each week, exceptions being for vacation or illness

Must be at least 16 years of age

Able to work alone and independently

Have good communication and listening skills

Ability to follow instructions

Ability to work with diverse populations

Physical mobility (walking, bending, standing)

Adequate hearing and vision

Sensitive to patient and family situations

Required:

Pass a background check

TB test

Meet Immunization compliance
