About This Role

Are you interested in furthering your career or gaining more experience as an Early Childhood Teacher? Stepping Stones is an established in-home childcare facility with a fun, experienced staff and a successful track record of helping young children learn and grow.

Stepping Stones is looking for a fun, dynamic, and caring Teacher Assistant to join our amazing team. Previous experience working with young children is preferred but not required. We will train you!

Start date: August 10th, 2026

10-month position, school year ends June 15th, 2027

Infant/Toddler Assistant Teacher 7:00am -4:00pm with a one-hour midday break. There is flexibility with the end time and with the midday break time.

Stepping Stones follows the LCPS teacher calendar for all holidays and closings.


What You'll Do

Job responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and monitor the safety of children
  • Prepare meals and organize mealtimes and snacks for children
  • Assist with pre-planned activities like Art and Music
  • Work with the lead teacher to watch for signs of developmental or emotional issues in children
  • Keep records of infant’s progress, routines, and interest
  • Cleaning routine throughout the day that keeps all of the interactive areas sanitary and safe

Requirements

Candidates must also:

  • Be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Communicate in English clearly
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Complete a background check
