Training Specialist - Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Trainer

Our work depends on a Training Specialist joining our team to deliver complex technical and tactical training to sailors enrolled in courses taught at Surface Combat Systems Training Command-Middle Atlantic (MIDLANT) Norfolk, Virginia.
HOW A TRAINING SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Develops, organizes, and conducts training and educational programs for customer personnel supporting the Navy's Advanced Warfare Training (AWT) training program.
Utilizes exceptional customer skills to conduct traditional classroom instruction and support technical and tactical laboratory training
Work as a team member to identify learning gaps and train SQQ-89A(v)15 technicians and CIC watch standers in the technical & tactical employment of the ASW sensors and weapon systems.

Work as a team member to complete customer deadlines which may have competing/shifting priorities
Provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development for SCSTC courses supporting the employment of the ASW courses

Conduct dynamic assessment of the sailors' abilities to comply with operational procedures and thereafter provide formal appraisal of performance with recommendations for improvement and methods to maintain technical and tactical proficiency
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Required Experience: Five (5) years of experience as a qualified SQQ-89A(v)15 Undersea Warfare System technician with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a journeyman level training environment.

Of the five years, one (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include presentation skills, public speaking, curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems.

Additional qualification: Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing. Prior SCSTC/ATRC/TACTRAGRU instructor experience is a significant plus. Travel may be up required to 10 % of time.

The likely salary range for this position is $72,250 - $97,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
