Job description

We are looking for an experienced Therapist to join our team at our Inpatient Program in Waxahachie!
Job Summary:
The Therapist is responsible for delivering direct therapeutic services to clients in a residential or outpatient program setting. This includes individual, group, and family therapy sessions, treatment planning, clinical documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Therapists at Discovery MSO provide compassionate, evidence-based care that supports client recovery and long-term behavioral health outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual therapy, group therapy, and family sessions as assigned.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational and process groups in accordance with program curriculum.
  • Document all clinical services accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and coordinate with medical, case management, and recovery support staff.
  • Monitor client progress and update treatment goals based on clinical observations and feedback.
  • Maintain compliance with state licensing, payer, and accreditation documentation standards.
  • Respond to clinical crises and escalate concerns to the Clinical Director when appropriate.
  • Attend supervision and clinical training sessions as required by licensure and organizational standards.
  • Provide culturally competent and trauma-informed care to diverse populations.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Active licensure or licensure candidate in Texas (LPC, LPC-Associate, LMFT, LMFT-Associate, LCSW, LMSW, LCDC or LCDC-Intern, Licensed Psychologist)
  • Strong understanding of substance use disorders, co-occurring conditions, and trauma-based interventions preferred
  • Prior experience in residential, PHP, or IOP treatment settings preferred.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and clinical documentation protocols.
Job Type: Part-time; non-exempt
Pay Range: $26.44 - $31.25/hr
Schedule:
  • Saturdays and Sundays; 8:00am - 5:00pm

FLSA Classification: This position is Exempt and is not eligible for overtime under federal and state wage and hour laws.
