Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:    The Laundry Attendant is primarily responsible for cleaning and storing linens in a timely, organized manner to ensure that the Hotel's laundry and linen needs are met. The Laundry Attendant will promote a safe working environment and quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction. The Laundry Attendant will work with supervisors, inspectors, and other members of the housekeeping team to ensure maximum efficiency.

THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS OF THIS JOB ARE:
•    Properly utilize the necessary tools and chemicals to clean articles to property standards 
•    Pre-soak, sterilize, scrub, spot-clean, and dry contaminated or stained articles, using neutralizer solutions for recovery items. 
•    Examine and sort into basket of articles for laundry, according to color, fabric, dirt content, and cleaning technique required 
•    Processing of all guest room linen and terry, banquet linen and restaurant linen consisting of washing pressing and folding. 
•    Apply recovery product to remove stains form fabrics that do not respond to other cleaning solvents.  
•    Has full knowledge of how to operate all machinery in the laundry room such as washing machine, dryer, towel folder, presser and third arm sheet folder. 
•    Make sure all driers, or extractors, and turn valves or levers to regulate machine processes and the volume of soap, detergent, water, bleach, starch, and other additives are working properly, report if not.  
•    Responsible for assisting in monthly inventories.
•    Responsible for 5am. delivery of linen during the summer months.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES: 
Knowledge of the entire hotel safety procedures to ensure the safety and security of our guests and employees. 
 

EDUCATIONAL / CERTIFICATION / LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent – Required

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
•    Must be able to speak understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
•    Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
•    Excellent time management and organizational skills

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCED REQUIRED:
Previous hospitality and/or housekeeping experience preferred
