Highlights:

Summary: The Clinical Laser Safety Officer shall be responsible for all laser safety for Surgical Services. This individual will also perform preventative maintenance, calibration, daily operational checks, trouble shooting, and repairs of all lasers and other laser related equipment in Surgical Services. Additionally, the Safety Officer will operate the laser during laser procedures and function as the Laser Safety Officer for Surgical Services. This individual will assist in the set up procedure for laparoscopy cases related to video and endoscopy equipment.This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.Education / Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required. Must have attended Technical or Engineering school in electronics, electrical technology/engineering, biomedical technology/engineering, or a laser technical.License / Certification: BLS requiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to use calibration equipment, oscilloscopes, and electronic testing equipment
• Able to read electronic specifications schematics, technical manuals, etc.
• Ability to use and be responsible for tools and related equipment for repair
• Work within a sterile environment
• Work with high electrical voltage and electronic components of sophisticated technological equipment
• Able to recognize and establish priorities and be attentive to details
• Demonstrate good work ethics
• Demonstrate the ability to follow established and approved hospital policies and procedures
