Access Laser Company is seeking a Laser Test Technician to complement our Production Team with testing and fine tuning some of the worldโ€™s most impactful application-specific laser products.

Primary Duties:

  • Build, test, troubleshoot, and rework/repair electromechanical laser assemblies to production standards independently.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that all lasers meet the highest performance and quality standards.
  • Utilize measurement and test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters, and network analyzers.
  • Regularly report updates and any issues to the production lead to ensure smooth operations and clear communication.
  • Work with the production, quality and engineering teams to update and maintain work instructions and data collection/reporting documents.
  • Collaborate with other departments to productively address problems and implement solutions.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and create reports of the work you do and the problems you solve.
  • Perform quality work in a clean room and ESD controlled environment.
  • Assist other departments or teams when needed, demonstrating a collaborative and team-oriented mindset to help achieve the overall success of the company.
  • Use the ERP system to track jobs and production time.
  • Contribute your expertise to continuous improvement and product improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Standard Job Requirements:

  • An associate degree in physics, optics, photonics, electronics technology, mechanical engineering technology, or a similar field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of electronics, optics, or mechanical manufacturing.
  • Hands on experience with building, troubleshooting, and repairing electromechanical systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing products and priorities.
  • Ability to effectively contribute to a high-energy and highly collaborative environment.
  • A high standard for communication and teamwork.
  • Competence in maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs on a routine basis with the ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs, up to 5ft above ground.

Highly Desirable Additional Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in physics or another hard science
  • 3 yearsโ€™ experience in a test or technician role in high tech manufacturing or a similar service organization.
  • Experience with building and testing laser systems.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and 5S concepts.
  • An understanding of, or previous experience with RF power supplies.
  • Experience in handling optics and part of an assembly process.
  • Self-motivated and driven to take on and excel in challenging work.
