About the Role

Omega Morgan is hiring a Laser Tracker Technician to perform precision measurement services for customer tooling, machine tools, facilities, and related equipment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented technician with strong laser tracker experience, solid math skills, and the ability to work independently at customer sites and in shop environments.

The Laser Tracker Technician will be responsible for performing laser tracker measurements, preparing certification reports, reviewing results with customers, supporting equipment alignments, conducting dimensional layouts, and completing various measurement surveys based on customer standards and requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform laser tracker measurements on customer tooling, machine tools, facilities, and related equipment.
  • Prepare accurate reports from certifications and review results with customers.
  • Conduct dimensional layouts, equipment alignments, and various surveys as needed.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, manuals, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances.
  • Use drawings, specifications, verbal instructions, judgment, and experience to plan and complete assigned work.
  • Provide technical instruction and assistance to clients regarding certifications at customer sites.
  • Document progress and meet project deadlines.
  • Work closely with shop management and customer management.
  • Move between projects with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Perform work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Experience with laser tracker systems such as Leica, API, or Faro desired.
  • Experience with measurement software such as PolyWorks or Spatial Analyzer preferred.
  • Proficiency with computers required.
  • Knowledge of CATIA V5, SolidWorks, or other solid modeling programs helpful.
  • Familiarity with manual and CNC machine tool installations beneficial.
  • Ability to read blueprints and accurately calculate dimensions.
  • Strong math skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, solve problems, and perform well under pressure.
  • Must be dependable, flexible, time-conscious, resourceful, and self-motivated.

Preferred

  • 5 years of laser tracker experience

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and remain on your feet for most of the day.
  • Must be comfortable working in shop, facility, and customer-site environments.
