Job description


North Central Utility (NCU) is looking for a self-motivated and results-driven Alignment Technician to represent NCU in the semi-trailer service industry.
North Central Utility is one of the largest semi-trailer dealerships in the nation and the largest in the North Central region with 10 locations throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota. We offer reefer, dry van and flatbed trailers from Utility Trailer Manufacturing at all locations and vocational trailers from MAC Trailers in Wisconsin - we sell new and used semi-trailers. With Moore Space, we offer temporary storage container solutions as well. Our parts department has an extensive inventory of Heavy-Duty Truck/Tractor and Trailer parts. Our broad product line and geographic coverage ensures we are a “One Stop Shop” for truck and semi-trailer parts. Our service department offers everything from routine maintenance, certified DOT inspections to precision laser alignment, as well as complete wreck repair for trailers of all makes and models. No job is too big or too small for our skilled service technicians.


Job Summary:

Alignment technician will learn all aspects of heavy-duty vehicle alignment and frame straightening for semi-trailers, trucks, and RVs. This individual will receive 2+ years of hands-on training alongside a highly skilled master technician utilizing a state-of-the-art Bee Line laser alignment system to master heavy-duty vehicle alignment, along with changing kingpins, shackle bushings, and rear suspension bushings. The successful candidate will also receive in-depth training at the Bee Line factory. Must have a strong desire to learn and master a trade and be proficient in math with a clear understanding of adding and subtracting fractions.


This is a safety-sensitive position, requiring pre-employment and post-accident drug testing.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform diagnostics, repairs, and modifications of the following for all makes and models of semi-trailers:

  • Alignments on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles
  • Air suspension service and repairs
  • Spring suspension service and repairs
  • Full suspension rebuilds
  • Frame and Axle corrections
  • Drum & disc brake system works
  • Wheel end service and repairs
  • Bodywork (side panel, roof, rail & x-bars)
  • Air & electrical system work
  • Welding Repairs
  • Diagnose and provide recommendations on repairs
  • Accurately record description and hours of all work performed
  • Learn and follow NCU best practices for correct & efficient repairs
  • Learn and follow NCU safety best practices
  • Perform additional duties as needed
