Job description

Position Title: Foreign Language Teacher (Full-Time or Part-Time)

School: Father John V. Doyle School

Location: Coventry, Rhode Island 02816

Position Overview:

Father John V. Doyle School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Foreign Language Teacher to join our faculty. This position may be full-time or part-time, depending on the candidate's availability and the school's needs. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in French, Italian, Latin, or Spanish.

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching students across a range of grade levels (PK–8) and a passion for fostering language acquisition in a supportive, faith-based learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate foreign language instruction for students in PK through Grade 8
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student growth and confidence
  • Integrate cultural components to enrich language learning
  • Collaborate with faculty and administration to support school-wide initiatives and student success
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Education or related field preferred
  • Prior teaching experience with elementary and/or middle school students (PK–8)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom and engage young learners
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Faith amp; Mission Alignment:
  • A practicing Catholic who upholds the teachings and expectations of the Catholic Church or a Non-Catholic candidate who demonstrates respect for and willingness to support the mission and teachings of the Catholic faith
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification or an advanced degree in a foreign language or education
  • Experience teaching multiple grade levels
  • Familiarity with standards-based instruction and assessment
