Extrusion Technician

Job Description
The Extrusion Technician is critical position within our Extrusion department. The Extrusion Technician is responsible for physically operating an extrusion line in a way that ensures all products are produced free from cosmetic and physical defects and are within manufacturing tolerances.
This position is a full-time position, on-site at our extrusion plant located at:

What can you expect in the Line Op. role at Dura-Line?
  • You will perform extrusion line start-ups and changeovers; monitor and troubleshoot extrusion process.
  • You will adjust equipment such as gravimetric dosing system, pin, bushing, sleeve, vacuum tank, ultrasonic thickness gauge, laser outside diameter gauge, ink jet printer, puller, and coiling equipment to maintain product quality standards.
  • You will monitor production run and maintain required documentation and record equipment downtime and causes.
  • You will follow all safety requirements for the position and all company safety procedures.
  • You will perform routine, basic maintenance on equipment.
  • You will communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.

What does Dura-Line need from you?
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1-year extrusion or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of PLC controlled & integrated equipment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Ability to verbally communicate, read and write in the English language.
  • Ability to perform basic math; ad, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Able to use measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Your commitment to being a reliable and punctual team player. (Attendance on scheduled workdays is a must!).
  • Your commitment to wearing gloves, eye protection, and steel toe boots always, and dust mask, earplugs, hard hats, and face shields as necessary.
  • Maintain a safe, neat, and orderly workspace.
  • Your ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance, as well as the ability to push and pull pipe coils.
  • Your ability to work most of the time indoors on the plant floor, with heat, dust, and noise and work some of the time outdoors in any weather condition.
  • Your ability to remain in a stationary, standing position 80-100% of the time. Must be able to squat, bend, or stoop as much as 25% of the time on some days.

"The compensation for this position will typically start at $20.00 an hour. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
