The Deloitte Center for Integrated Research (CIR) works with the firm's most senior leaders to develop rigorously vetted, data-driven thought leadership. CIR sits at the center of Deloitte's industry and functional expertise, bringing together insights from across the organization to develop fresh thinking that helps clients navigate complex business issues. This work helps Deloitte speak with one voice in the marketplace and supports the development of new practices and capabilities.

Deloitte is seeking a Senior Manager 1, Program Manager and Managing Editor to join the Reporting Team within the Center for Integrated Research. This team represents an emerging capability within R&I and is focused on delivering timely coverage of news events and emerging topics through a thought leadership lens that supports Deloitte's broader brand narrative.

The Senior Manager will serve as a program leader and managing editor for the Reporting Team, overseeing a team of writers and working closely with research leaders to identify, shape, and publish timely, insight-driven articles that connect noteworthy developments to Deloitte's perspectives, expertise, and research. In this role, the individual will lead the day-to-day editorial agenda, manage team operations, and oversee the production and delivery of content that elevates Deloitte's voice on issues that matter to clients, enhances brand reputation, builds client relationships, and supports growth.

The ideal candidate brings strong editorial judgment, program management capabilities, and sound business judgment, along with the ability to move quickly across topics in a fast-paced environment.   • Help shape and communicate the priority reporting agenda to senior leadership, ensuring the Reporting Team is focused on the topics with the greatest relevance and impact for the firm.
  • Prioritize and triage reporting opportunities to support timely, high-value responses to market events, business news, and emerging issues.
  • Work closely with research leaders to identify, develop, and refine timely articles that connect newsworthy developments to Deloitte research, data, and expert perspectives.
  • Collaborate across industry and domain teams within R&I to identify opportunities and frame compelling narratives grounded in Deloitte's insights and expertise.
  • Ensure the rigor and credibility of reporting publications by questioning assumptions, testing conclusions, validating claims, and applying precision in language, data usage, and framing.

Brand journalism editorial agenda development and execution

  • Identify client-relevant topics where immediate response is needed and where Deloitte should join or lead the marketplace conversation around business implications.
  • Manage a dynamic pipeline of news-driven publications and assign work across the team to support timely coverage across multiple content types, including:
    • Brand journalism that synthesizes internal research and external developments into timely, data-driven business analysis
    • Idea testing and research previews that help assess market interest in emerging topics and early-stage research themes
    • Internal news briefings that provide data-driven perspectives on breaking developments for internal stakeholders and practice leaders
  • Lead coordination and curation of cross-industry and industry- or sector-specific insights to support internal and external reporting outputs.
  • Manage reporting processes and projects to help ensure outputs are well conceived, structured, high quality, and aligned with business and audience needs.
  • Formulate tactical business recommendations for executive audiences and help shape reporting outputs that are relevant, differentiated, and actionable.

Team leadership and people management

  • Lead and mentor a team of writers, supporting skill development, performance, and career progression.

  • Prior experience and ability to work independently and collaboratively within a larger, multifunctional, virtual team environment

Preferred qualifications

  • Prior experience in business journalism, publishing, thought leadership, or strategic communications
  • Prior experience with corporate thought leadership and global, cross-industry content
  • Prior experience working in a professional services or similarly fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Prior experience working remotely with distributed or global teams

Wage Disclosure 

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $113,100 to $232,300.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
