Job description

Landscape Enhancement Installation Crew Leader

Position Overview

In this role, you aren’t just a supervisor, you are the engine that drives our on-site success. You will manage day-to-day operations for contracted projects, ensuring that every planting, irrigation system, and hardscape is installed to the highest industry standards and Bland Landscaping criteria.

Core Responsibilities

  • Field Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate installation crews. Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and professional pride.

  • Project Execution: Read and interpret blueprints and job specifications to install plantings, lawns, irrigation systems, and hardscapes accurately.

  • Operational Management: Schedule daily work assignments, coordinate equipment/materials, and manage job site "start-up" and "shut-down" procedures.

  • Hands-on Labor: Lead by example in digging, tilling, planting, and heavy material handling (bagged and bulk).

  • Logistics & Maintenance: Ensure truck and trailer standardization, maintain equipment, and oversee the safe operation of company vehicles.

  • Administration: Submit daily mobile timesheets (BOSS), manage project hours, and maintain clear communication with Production Managers via company technology.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven track record in landscape installation and crew management.

  • Licensing: Must have a valid NC Driver’s License with a clean driving record (CDL preferred). Must be willing to obtain an NC Pesticide Applicator’s License.

  • Technical Skills: Ability to read job plans, adjust irrigation controllers, and operate landscape machinery safely.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs routinely, work in all weather conditions, and navigate environmental risks (pollen, thorns, etc.).

  • Professionalism: Punctual, dependable, and able to maintain positive relations with clients and contractors on-site.

  • Background: Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
