Job description

Summary:

As the Landscape Maintenance Supervisor of our Midlands office, you will be responsible for managing teams that perform commercial landscape maintenance services. Reporting directly to the Division Director of Maintenance, your main focus of this role is to manage safety, excellence, efficiency, and to provide leadership to your assigned teams.

    Responsibilities:

    As the Landscape Maintenance Supervisor, your duties will include but not be limited to the following:

    Safety

    • Monitor equipment inventory and ensure equipment is properly serviced
    • Perform and participate in team and departmental safety meetings
    • Ensure the safe operation of all maintenance equipment
    • Ensure all equipment and vehicles have inspections done as required

    Excellence

    • Assist in identifying enhancement opportunities on properties by creating issues in Aspire for the enhancement teams to follow up on including pictures and accurate descriptions of property issues
    • Oversee each property assigned to their division to ensure quality work and client satisfaction
    • Conduct thorough site audits on each property every four weeks and create any issues in the system that need to be addressed 
    • Create and maintain an accountability system for issues created from site audits and ensure that corrective actions are completed
    • Report site audits to clients upon request

    Efficiency

    • Manage schedules in Aspire to reduce drive time
    • Manage schedules in Aspire to ensure that time worked on properties is in line with contract work hour numbers
    • Work with your manager to review contracts as they come up for renewal annually to ensure accurate hours and measurements are reflected 
    • Review equipment needs and maintenance schedules with your manager
    • Organize, prioritize, and lead teams within established guidelines and timeframe
    • Continuously identify ways to improve work processes

    Administrative

    • Communicate daily with your manager on job site progress and issues
    • Provide feedback to your manager regarding an employee’s progress during their first 30, 60, and 90 days of hire. 
    • Document and prioritize projects/requests in Aspire
    • Work closely with HR Manager to promote and enforce all Human Resource Procedures
    • Document absences, tardiness's, and other disciplinary actions in Inova/Aspire
    • Daily approval of time on properties and weekly approval of timesheets in Aspire

    Leadership

    • Monitor the accuracy of information provided for time tracking
    • Hold teams accountable on all aspects of landscape maintenance services
    • Meet deadlines set by manager
    • Ensure new team members are in the training program and that a performance review is completed at the end of training
    • Mentor team members and identify and aid those that want to be on the company career path
    • Conduct Performance Reviews on team leaders/members

    Qualification Requirements:  

    • High school diploma or GED, required
    • Has prior client service and leadership experience
    • Current State Pesticide Applicator license preferred, but not required
    • High school diploma or GED, required
    • Certified Landscape Professional (preferred)

    Professional Skills:  

    • Must be able to effectively communicate in English
    • Demonstrates dependability and commitment to the required hours for job completion
    • Must be able to pass a background check
    • Must have a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record

    Physical & Environmental Considerations: 

    • Work outside in various weather conditions that may be hot, cold, wet, or turbulent
    • Work in environments with loud noise levels, requiring hearing protection
    • Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies
    • Must understand and abide by all OSHA regulations, including wearing PPE
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
    • Must be able to stand, bend, and squat for extended periods

    Schedule:

    • 10 hour shift
    • Day shift
    • Monday to Thursday plus on call during busy season

    Language:

    • English or Bilingual English/Spanish (Required)
