Job description

Commercial Landscape Supervisor

Position Summary

The Commercial Landscape Supervisor is responsible for overseeing landscape maintenance operations across multiple commercial properties (Texas) and company-owned locations. This is a hands-on role. This role ensures all properties are maintained to company standards for appearance, safety, irrigation, and overall curb appeal. The supervisor coordinates crews, schedules work, manages vendors and supplies, and supports budget and safety compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Property Oversight

· Supervise landscape maintenance operations for multiple commercial and company-owned properties.

· Conduct regular site inspections to ensure landscaping meets quality and safety standards.

· Develop and maintain maintenance schedules for mowing, trimming, edging, irrigation, fertilization, weed control, and seasonal plantings.

· Ensure all grounds, parking lots, walkways, and exterior common areas remain clean, safe, and visually appealing.

· Monitor irrigation systems and coordinate repairs as needed.

· Coordinate seasonal projects including flower rotations, tree trimming, mulch installation, and storm cleanup.

Team Leadership

· Supervise and support landscape crews and contractors.

· Assign daily tasks and monitor work performance and productivity.

· Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.

· Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and safety.

· Assist with interviewing, onboarding, and training new employees.

Safety & Compliance

· Enforce company safety policies and procedures.

· Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and environmental guidelines.

· Conduct routine safety meetings and equipment inspections.

· Maintain accurate records of incidents, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Budget & Vendor Management

· Assist with budgeting and cost control for landscape operations.

· Monitor inventory levels for landscaping materials, tools, and equipment.

· Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized services and repairs.

· Review invoices and ensure services are completed according to contract specifications.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED required; additional horticulture, landscaping, or facilities management training preferred.

· Minimum of 3–5 years of commercial landscape maintenance experience.

· Prior supervisory or crew leadership experience preferred.

· Knowledge of irrigation systems, plant care, turf maintenance, and landscaping equipment.

· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to manage multiple properties and priorities simultaneously.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and mobile communication applications.

· Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.

· Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.

· Ability to operate landscaping equipment and vehicles safely.

Work Environment

· Primarily outdoor work environment across multiple commercial properties.

· May require occasional evenings, weekends, or emergency response during severe weather events.

Preferred Skills

· Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

· Experience managing landscaping vendors and contracts.

· Familiarity with irrigation scheduling systems and landscape management software.
