Job description

The Landscape Operations Manager is a critical leadership position responsible for ensuring our landscape enhancements and irrigation operations run safely, efficiently, and at the highest quality standard. This role directly impacts customer satisfaction, crew performance, and operational profitability by driving strong job planning, disciplined execution, and continuous improvement in the field.

This position is located in Westfield, Indiana.

You will lead from the front—supporting crews, reinforcing standards, and partnering with internal teams to deliver consistent, professional results.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Safety & Compliance

  • Champion a strong safety culture by enforcing company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Lead safety meetings, quality inspections, and proactive incident-prevention efforts

Quality & Service Excellence

  • Ensure all services meet company quality standards and customer expectations
  • Identify quality issues and implement corrective actions quickly and effectively

People Leadership & Development

  • Lead onboarding, training, and certification efforts for crews
  • Coach crew leaders and teams through performance improvement and ongoing development
  • Build crew capability through structured training, accountability, and regular field observation

Job Planning & Production Management

  • Ensure crews are dispatched with job plans, defined scopes of work, proper staffing, and equipment
  • Develop and refine job plans that include labor targets and equipment needs
  • Identify underperforming jobs and re-plan work to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability

Scheduling & Operational Efficiency

  • Build and manage schedules that optimize routes, travel time, equipment utilization, and crew skill alignment

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a key link between field operations, sales, and management teams
  • Support equipment preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and inventory control
  • Assist with operational planning and production cost estimates for new opportunities

Additional Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Support business needs through additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • 8+ years of landscape enhancement experience and/or irrigation experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role (required)
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to adapt to new technology
  • Ability to consistently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, kneel, and stand for up to 12 hours a day.
