Landscape Renovations Crew Leader


Position Summary

The Landscape Renovations Crew Leader is responsible for leading a crew in the installation, renovation, and enhancement of commercial landscape projects. This role oversees daily job site activities, ensures quality workmanship, promotes a safe work environment, and helps complete projects on time and within budget. The Crew Leader serves as the primary point of communication between the crew and management while working alongside team members in the field.


Position Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise landscape renovation crews on commercial installation projects.
  • Coordinate daily work assignments and ensure projects are completed efficiently and according to specifications.
  • Perform and oversee site preparation, demolition, grading, planting, irrigation installation, and landscape improvements.
  • Install and supervise installation of trees, shrubs, sod, mulch, irrigation systems, and other landscape materials.
  • Lead hardscape installations including pavers, walkways, retaining walls, edging, and related features.
  • Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and care of company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Read and interpret basic project plans, layouts, and work orders.
  • Monitor project quality and ensure all work meets company standards and client expectations.
  • Train, mentor, and support crew members in proper installation techniques and safety procedures.
  • Track labor, materials, and equipment usage as required.
  • Communicate project progress, concerns, and site conditions to Supervisors and Project Managers.
  • Enforce company safety policies and immediately address unsafe conditions or behaviors.
  • Conduct daily safety discussions and ensure all crew members utilize required PPE.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials and equipment to job sites.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and professional job sites.


Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of landscape construction, renovation, or related construction experience.
  • Previous crew leadership, foreman, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to operate landscape construction equipment and power tools safely.
  • Ability to read and follow project plans, specifications, and work orders.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and move 50 pounds regularly and perform physical outdoor work.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and job site environments.


Preferred:

  • Experience with irrigation installation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with hardscape installation including pavers, retaining walls, and concrete preparation.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills.
  • Equipment operation experience (skid steer, mini excavator, compact equipment, etc.).
