Salary: $27.75 - $30.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY

The Landscape Maintenance and Mow Foreman position. Responsibilities include leading and supervising a team of 2-4 crew members in performing essential landscaping tasks, primarily focused on mowing, trimming, and edging, as well as managing seasonal cleanups for residential and commercial properties. Based in Plymouth, Massachusetts, this role demands strong leadership to ensure that all landscaping tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the companys high standards. The Foreman is also in charge of equipment management, job planning, client interactions, and daily reporting. This position requires a hands-on approach with substantial experience in landscape maintenance, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. The Foreman will work closely with the Landscape Maintenance Project Manager or General Project Manager to coordinate schedules, manage resources, and maintain client satisfaction.

OBJECTIVES


  • Ensure all landscaping work meets or exceeds the companys quality standards, including mowing, trimming, and edging.
  • Maximize crew productivity by effectively assigning tasks, managing time, and optimizing workflows.
  • Enforce all safety protocols among the crew to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain high levels of client satisfaction through timely and professional completion of projects, addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly.
  • Oversee the maintenance when onsite, and operation of all landscaping equipment to ensure functionality and reduce downtime.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to crew members, enhancing their skills and ensuring compliance with best practices.
  • Manage and execute seasonal cleanups efficiently, preparing properties for seasonal changes and ensuring all tasks are completed as scheduled.
  • Oversee daily operations, including planning and scheduling, to ensure all landscaping projects are completed on time.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of work completed, including timekeeping and progress updates, using the companys reporting systems.
  • Ensure optimal use of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to keep operating costs within budget.


COMPETENCIES


  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in landscape maintenance, with a proven track record of success in turf management, mowing, trimming, and general landscape care.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a foreman role, overseeing a team of landscape technicians or laborers, demonstrating strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience with landscape maintenance equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers) and the ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, including scheduling, resource allocation, and ensuring completion of projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience dealing with client inquiries and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Proficiency driving a truck with a trailer.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


  • Previous experience in landscaping or lawn care is required. Candidates with experience in mowing, trimming, and general yard maintenance will be better prepared to meet job demands.
  • Experience with the operation and basic maintenance of landscaping equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and blowers is highly desirable.
  • Experience with seasonal landscape cleanups, including leaf removal and preparation for seasonal transitions, is beneficial.
  • Prior experience in roles requiring physical labor, especially outdoors, can demonstrate the candidate's ability to handle the physical demands of the job.
  • Experience working as part of a team, following directions from a supervisor, and collaborating effectively with colleagues to complete tasks efficiently.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • The Landscape Maintenance Mowing Foreman role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physically demanding tasks, including frequent walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. This position involves operating commercial mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other landscape maintenance equipment while ensuring safety and efficiency. The job requires extended periods of standing, repetitive motions, and the ability to navigate uneven terrain.
