Landscape Executive information

What is a landscape executive?

Landscape Executives are professionals responsible for overseeing and managing landscaping projects for residential, commercial, or public properties. Their work includes planning, budgeting, coordinating with clients and contractors, and ensuring that landscape designs are executed efficiently and to a high standard. They may also supervise maintenance teams, manage procurement of plants and materials, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations. A Landscape Executive needs strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills, as well as knowledge of horticulture and landscape design principles.

What are some typical challenges a landscape executive may face when managing multiple projects simultaneously?

A Landscape Executive often juggles several projects at once, which can present challenges such as coordinating schedules, managing diverse teams, and ensuring consistent quality across sites. Balancing client expectations with available resources and overseeing contractors or suppliers can also be demanding. Effective communication, strong organizational skills, and proactive problem-solving are essential to keep projects on track and maintain client satisfaction.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a landscape executive, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Landscape Executive, you need expertise in landscape design, horticulture, and project management, often supported by a degree in landscaping or a related field. Familiarity with design software like AutoCAD, project scheduling tools, and knowledge of sustainable landscaping practices are typically required. Strong leadership, client communication, and problem-solving skills set successful candidates apart in this role. These abilities are crucial for delivering aesthetically pleasing, sustainable projects on time and within budget while effectively managing teams and client expectations.

Job description

Area Sales Executive – Commercial (Colorado Rockies)

StruXure, a portfolio company of D5 Capital Holdings, designs and manufactures premium motorized pergolas and smart outdoor living systems for residential and commercial spaces. Our products transform outdoor environments into fully functional, weather-adaptive extensions of the home or business, and we're known in the outdoor living industry for combining innovative engineering with a premium customer experience. As we expand our commercial affiliate program into new markets, we're looking for driven sales professionals who know how to build relationships in the design, construction, and outdoor living community.

About the Role

StruXure of the Rockies is expanding its commercial sales team and we're looking for an Area Sales Executive & Design Consultant to own the commercial affiliate program in this market. This is a relationship-driven, outside sales role for a connected, self-directed professional who thrives building pipeline with landscape architects, general contractors, developers, and design professionals. You'll represent a premium product that commercial clients are genuinely excited to buy, with the autonomy to build your territory your way and the earning potential to match.

Candidates must be located in the Denver, CO metro area to be considered.

What You'll Do

  • Build and grow the commercial affiliate program across the market
  • Develop strategic relationships with landscape architects, general contractors, outdoor living contractors, and architects
  • Establish and manage relationships with owners, directors of sales, pre-construction leads, and estimators at target firms
  • Build and maintain a robust, self‑sourced pipeline, leveraging company‑provided leads as an additional resource.
  • Represent StruXure's pergola and smart outdoor living systems in commercial specification and design conversations
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through close

What You Bring

Required

  • Proven track record in outside/field sales, ideally within construction, architecture, landscape, or outdoor living
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial approach to building and managing a territory
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills across owners, executives, and technical stakeholders

Preferred

  • Experience selling premium or luxury outdoor, building, or architectural products
  • An established network of relationships with landscape architects, general contractors, developers, or design professionals in the Colorado (Rockies) metro area
  • Familiarity with commercial pre-construction and estimating processes
  • Existing relationships within the regional design/build community (think architects, engineers, contractors, and owners)

Why This Role Stands Out

  • A ground-floor opportunity to build a territory in a high-growth market
  • A premium product category that commercial clients are genuinely excited to buy
  • Uncapped earning potential, backed by company-provided lead support
  • High autonomy to build your book of business on your terms

Compensation

  • $150,000–$300,000+ in on-target annual commission earnings, with no cap
  • 1099 independent contractor role—commission-only, no base salary
  • Company-provided lead support
  • Company reimbursement for Lunch and Learns and other events
  • Flexible schedule

Colorado Disclosure

This is a commission-only independent contractor position. No company-sponsored benefits are provided. As an independent contractor, you are responsible for your own taxes and are not entitled to unemployment insurance through this engagement.
