POSITION SUMMARY:

Mackin Engineers & Consultants is seeking a creative and experienced Senior Landscape Architect to lead the planning, design, and integration of landscape architecture within a wide variety of public and private infrastructure projects. This role will be responsible for delivering thoughtful, technically sound, and environmentally responsible designs that align with client goals and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering teams, clients, and stakeholders to bring projects to life from concept through construction.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Design and develop landscape and streetscape plans, including grading, drainage, stormwater management,
    erosion control, and planting
  • Produce contract documents, renderings, and construction drawings using AutoCAD and other design
    software
  • Collaborate with engineers and planners to integrate landscape elements into broader infrastructure and
    development projects
  • Conduct site investigations and analyses to inform appropriate, context-sensitive design solutions
    Present design concepts to clients, stakeholders, and review agencies, and manage client communications
    throughout project lifecycle
  • Oversee or assist with implementation of landscape projects to ensure design intent is maintained during
    construction
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and local codes
  • Support proposal development, including conceptual ideas, narratives, and cost estimates
  • Contribute to cross-disciplinary projects and provide landscape expertise across the organization
  • Participate in firmwide initiatives that promote innovation, client satisfaction, and operational excellence
  • Represent Mackin at industry conferences, events, and professional committees

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related discipline (required)
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in landscape architecture or civil site design
  • Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) or Professional Engineer (PE) license required (or ability to obtain
    within 1 year)
  • Strong design and technical skills with a working knowledge of applicable codes, environmental standards,
    and permitting processes
  • Proficiency in CAD and other landscape design software
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and working with multidisciplinary teams
