In the role of Landscape Designer, we'll count on you to:
  • Work under the direction of registered Landscape Architect to assist in development of site design projects, from concept design to construction documentation
  • Understand that assignments have specified objectives and require investigation of many variables, including site analysis, building operation, vehicular and pedestrian traffic, site grading and storm drainage
  • Conduct site visits and analyses, and assist the project Landscape Architect with illustration of design using combination of hand-drawn and computer-rendered graphics
  • Provide AutoCAD production support during concept and schematic design, design development, and construction document phases
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, advanced 3D modeling, computational design and rendering with programs such as Grasshopper, Lumion, Enscape
  • Internships or prior work experience as landscape designer
  • Hand sketching and drawing skills
  • Strong design sensibility: creativity and curiosity, clear visual communication, strong design rigor, including iterative concept exploration through multiple platforms
  • Understanding of technical aspects of landscape architecture and associated terminology including construction materials and processes, grading and drainage, plant materials and planting design
  • Preference given to candidates in the tri-state area (NJ/PA/NY)

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or Civil Engineering
  • AutoCAD, Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel experience
  • Photoshop a plus
  • Ability to prepare site plans and understand the principles of grading and drainage
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
