Both Per Diem Landscape Architects and Contract Landscape Architects work on temporary projects, often requiring similar credentials. Understanding these distinctions helps job seekers find the right temporary or freelance landscape architecture opportunities.

What is a Per Diem Landscape Architect?

A Per Diem Landscape Architect is a licensed professional who works on a temporary, as-needed basis rather than as a full-time employee. These architects are usually hired to assist with specific projects or during peak workload periods and are paid a daily or hourly rate. Their responsibilities can include designing outdoor spaces, creating site plans, and ensuring that projects comply with local regulations. This flexible arrangement allows both employers and architects to address project demands without the commitment of a permanent position.

Will AI replace landscape architect?

AI technology can assist landscape architects by automating tasks like site analysis and design visualization, but it is unlikely to fully replace the profession. Landscape architecture requires creativity, site-specific knowledge, and client interaction that AI cannot replicate. Professionals will continue to use AI tools to enhance their work while maintaining the need for human expertise and judgment.
