What is a Landmark Security officer?

Landmark Security officers are trained professionals responsible for protecting people, property, and assets at significant sites such as historical monuments, museums, or public landmarks. Their duties often include monitoring surveillance systems, patrolling premises, checking visitor credentials, and responding to emergencies. They play a crucial role in maintaining safety and order, preventing vandalism, theft, or other security threats. Landmark Security officers may also provide information and assistance to visitors while ensuring that regulations are followed.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Landmark Security officer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Landmark Security Officer, you need a solid understanding of security protocols, surveillance techniques, and often a security guard license or related certification. Location:

This is a big, high-visibility build, you'll need sharp technical skills and the people skills to match, working closely with Owners, subcontractors, and the project team every day. Note: this role is based out of the Roaring Fork Valley rather than Aspen itself, and Shaw provides housing support to help you get settled.
Pay & Relocation: $100,000$130,000/year, based on qualifications and experience, plus bonus. Shaw provides housing support to help you get settled in the valley, arrangements discussed individually.
Job Summary: Supervise the field construction of a complex, high-profile multifamily project-organization, planning, and scheduling-to complete the work on time, within budget, and to the quality specified. This project demands deep technical expertise plus the relationship-building skills to keep a large, high-visibility team aligned.
What You'll Do:
  • Study contract documents (plans, specs, Owner Contractor Agreement) and lead the on-site Shaw team's execution of the work
  • Review subcontractor scopes and coordinate with the Project Manager
  • Lead site planning, logistics, and build strategy with particular emphasis on shoring systems, and stormwater management, strong expertise required
  • Develop and manage the P6 CPM progress schedule
  • Establish and enforce the project safety & security program
  • Coordinate and check the work of subcontractors, including surveyors and shoring contractors
  • Own the Shaw 1-2-3 Quality Control program from prephase through close-out, including a master deficiency log and disciplined punch list tracking to final sign-off
  • Maintain rigorous document control: on-site copy of record for drawings, specs, submittals, and As-Builts
  • Manage the submittal and RFI process with the PM/Project Engineer
  • Plan jobsite logistics: housekeeping, temporary heat/power/lighting, material storage and handling, vertical movement
  • Partner with the Shaw Self-Perform group on labor, equipment, budget, and material planning; implement and manage stormwater compliance
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Owner, subcontractors, inspection agencies, and the project team-essential on a project of this scale and visibility
  • Handle project documentation and reporting: daily reports, safety inspections, schedule updates, QA/QC, permits, inspections, and support through project close-out
  • Mentor Field Superintendents and Engineers on your team

Supervisor Responsibilities: Supervises all Superintendents and Foremen assigned to the project
Education/Experience: Four-year degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of building construction experience at the Superintendent level for ground-up multifamily projects ($20M$100M).
Required Qualifications:
  • Multifamily construction experience required
  • Strong, hands-on experience with shoring systems and concrete excavation
  • Strong working knowledge of stormwater management and compliance
  • Proven relationship-building skills-experience coordinating closely with surveyors, shoring contractors, Owners, and project stakeholders on complex or high-profile projects
  • Strong documentation and paperwork management skills

Benefits: PTO, paid holidays, 401(k) with company match, medical/dental/vision, wellness program, EAP, HSA with company contribution, FSA options, company-paid life/AD&D and long-term disability, plus voluntary life, short-term disability, critical illness, hospital indemnity, and accident insurance.
