This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we're developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin's mission. Enterprise Technology is the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin, providing oversight and governance to align technology and business strategies.
We are a team of collaborators, doers, and problem- solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.
As a Technical Product Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the digital infrastructure that supports our mission. You will be responsible for our change and configuration management systems, which are critical to enabling fast and reliable design iteration on vehicles like New Glenn and lunar landers. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, from aerospace and manufacturing engineers to software engineers and designers, to define and execute roadmaps. Your strategic vision, leadership, and commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences will be essential to our success.
We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Product Strategy and Vision: Develop and articulate a clear software product vision and strategy that aligns with both customer needs and Blue Origin's mission.
  • Customer Focus: Apply domain expertise in manufacturing and engineering configuration management to develop strong empathy with internal customers, and represent their voice throughout the product lifecycle. Regularly engage with internal customers including aerospace engineers, manufacturing partners, and change managers to deeply understand their needs, gather feedback, and enhance the product experience.
  • Roadmap Development & Prioritization: Own the software roadmap, making data-driven decisions to prioritize features and enhancements based on customer needs, business impact, and technical feasibility.
  • Product Delivery: Deliver high-quality products on time and within budget. You will not only define detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, but also use AI to quickly prototype and ship features.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development and launch. Act as a product evangelist, drive adoption of product features and improvements.
  • Performance and Metrics: Define, monitor, and report on key metrics to measure product success. Leverage data to make informed decisions and iterate on product features and functionality.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating product processes, tools, and methodologies. Lead ongoing product discovery activities to identify optimal technology solutions for customer challenges.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of product management, software development, or hardware engineering experience. Proven track record of managing products through their entire lifecycle from conception to launch and scale.
  • Technical Acumen: Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, make trade-offs, and evaluate new ideas. Track record of influencing software architecture and design.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to independently handle data retrieval using SQL, and leverage data for decision-making and product prioritization.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience developing systems for hardware configuration management and change management, especially in the aerospace sector.
  • Successful track record owning operational excellence goals, e.g. defect reduction, first pass yield, cycle times, etc.

Base Pay Range for:
WA applicants is $169,347.00 - $237,085.80

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
