This is a unique opportunity for a technically strong site/civil land development professional who is energized by the chance to join a startup-style market within a well-established, growing organization. In addition to leading technical design and delivery, this role offers exceptional visibility and long-term career growth potential, including pathways into project management, client management, and regional market leadership. The ideal candidate will be excited not only by technical excellence, but also by the opportunity to help shape, grow, and represent the team in a vibrant and collaborative office culture.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare reports, findings, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and other contract documents for land development projects.
  • Conduct feasibility/due diligence studies and support land use/zoning processes.
  • Model and design stormwater management facilities and land development infrastructure.
  • Acquire construction land use permits from state, county, and local entities.
  • This role offers a strong path into project management and seller/doer leadership, including mentoring junior staff, delegating work, collaborating with clients and regulatory agencies, and supporting efforts to help grow the central Ohio market and expand client relationships.
  • Potential to participate in externally facing opportunities that help market the team, build visibility in the region, and contribute to the continued growth of Community & Land Development in central Ohio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred.
  • 10+ years of related experience in land development, including expertise in zoning analysis, land planning, grading, drainage, utility layout, stormwater management, and related site/civil design. Candidates should bring a strong technical foundation along with the desire to grow beyond a purely technical role.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil3D, and stormwater modeling software.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with enthusiasm for helping to build and grow a developing market presence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in public testimony and presentations being a plus.
