Job description

We're looking for an on-site Senior Designer (5+ years of experience), based in the Minneapolis, MN area, with an education from an Accreditation Board for Engineering & Technology (ABET)- accredited program who enjoys solving complex design challenges, mentoring emerging professionals, and leading projects that leave a lasting impact on the communities we serve.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Designer, you'll play a key role throughout the entire land development process-from early site planning through construction.
You'll:
  • Lead the preparation of site plans, grading, drainage, utility, erosion control, and construction documents
  • Apply advanced site design solutions for residential and commercial developments
  • Coordinate with clients, municipalities, consultants, and contractors throughout project delivery
  • Prepare permit applications and guide projects through agency review
  • Perform construction administration and provide technical design support during construction
  • Provide quality control for project documents and design standards
  • Mentor Designers and EITs while helping strengthen Landform's collaborative culture
  • Take ownership of increasingly complex projects while helping shape design excellence across the studio

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum five years of progressive site design experience
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, or land development
  • Experience preparing construction documents and coordinating project deliverables
  • Experience mentoring or guiding junior designers
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry-standard design software
  • Passion for collaborative problem-solving and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Advanced experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary land development projects
