What is land administration?

Land administration refers to the processes and systems involved in recording, managing, and regulating land ownership, use, and development. It typically includes activities such as land registration, cadastral mapping, land valuation, and the enforcement of land laws and policies. The purpose of land administration is to ensure secure tenure, resolve disputes, facilitate land transactions, and support sustainable development. Effective land administration helps governments, businesses, and individuals manage land resources efficiently and transparently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in land administration, and why are they important?

To thrive in Land Administration, you need a solid understanding of property law, land management, and surveying, often backed by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), land registration databases, and digital mapping tools is essential.
