Job description

The Local Area Network (LAN) Lead provides support to a specific DLA geographic region (Northeast, Central, South, and West). This position will support and provide direction to the network engineers in their assigned region. Responsibilities Assist the network engineering team with equipment lifecycle planning and installation, as well as development of technical specifications for procurement of Enterprise LAN equipment. Coordinate with the Network Engineering team for the placement and cabling of LAN equipment within the DLA enclave.
Development of market research for new equipment and provide recommendations to Government POC. Provide input on LAN designs and architecture as required. Perform lab testing of LAN equipment. Provide knowledge transfer to the Network & Telecommunications Services (NTS-LAN) government staff. * Track assigned projects, provide regular updates to the Task Order Project Manager (TOPM) and Government POC.
  • Attend meetings regarding LAN support and assigned projects.
  • Task, track, monitor and report on tickets, projects, and special assignments within their area of responsibility.
Ensure LAN network diagrams are kept up to date with all diagrams being reviewed/updated at a minimum annually. Must have the ability to communicate accurate information Technology used: Cisco routers, Cisco switches, VLANs, inter-switch trunking, wireless access points, cabling, InfoBlox DNS, endpoint security, Operating Systems, Opentext NNMi, Cisco Catalyst Center, Axonius, Netscout Infinistream, Splunk, Network Management Servers Qualifications • Active Secret Clearance • Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority (e.g., Network+, Security+, CCNA, etc.) • 5 years of LAN experience including at least 2 projects in technical task areas.
