Duties

LHP Engineering Solutions LLC seeks a Senior Model Based Controls Engineer in Pontiac MI. Telecommuting permitted 100% of time. Duties: apply quality assurance techniques; compile data and define changes required in software and features; conduct software vulnerability assessments of systems; contribute to the delivery of innovative, flexible, and integrated solutions to meet customer's changing business needs; coordinate input from internal and external customers to understand needs and perceptions; perform root cause analysis, error correction, and functional and risk analysis of system level problems (5 Whys, Fishbone); represent the development team in multi-focused team meetings; work with cross-functional teams to architect and implement complex solutions; confirm that new software features integrate with control systems (sensors, electronic control units and actuators that manage vehicle motion, stability, and safety, including propulsion, braking and steering) to meet functionality requirements; controls (steering, braking, acceleration, gear shifting, lighting, climate control, transmission) and model requirements definition, controls architecting (shifting from distributed electronic control units to centralized and zonal architecture to reduce wiring complexity while enhancing computing power for software-defined vehicles), design, analysis, implementation and verification using Model-in-the-Loop (MIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) techniques consistent with design requirements; design and provide technical documents for developed controls; design, model and integrate software functionalities in a real-time embedded environment; develop and analyze requirements; develop controls solutions (electronic systems and software—such as powertrain control units, anti-lock brake systems and Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) using model-based definition techniques; ensure process compliance and configuration management; participate in software reviews and provide technical support, guidance and collaboration for software and hardware implementation activities; work with product development teams to design and develop control algorithms.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field, plus 3 years of experience in any role in which one or more of skills listed below were used or developed. Included within the 3 years of experience, must have experience in all of the following: autocode generation (RTW, Target Link, Embedded Coder, or ADI Beacon); configuration management tools (IBM Rational ClearQuest, IBM Team Concert, IBM Jazz Team Server, or GitLab); Eclipse, C, or C++ programming languages; modelling and simulation using MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, LabView or Modelica; version control and requirements management software tools (RTC, DNG, DOORS, Jira, PTC Integrity, or GIT); scripting language (Python or Mscript); verification and validation tools (ETAS INCA, CANalyzer, or CANape); fixed point and double precision data type usage and autocode generation impact; MAAB, MISRA and ISO26262 standards; MBD design guidelines.
