We are seeking an Embedded Software Test Engineer to support the integration, verification, and validation of real-time embedded software for advanced military vehicle systems. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on work with both hardware and software while solving complex technical challenges in a laboratory and vehicle testing environment.
Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will integrate embedded software with complex electronic and electro-mechanical systems, develop and execute software verification tests, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure products meet rigorous military and engineering performance requirements.
This position offers the opportunity to work directly with tactical combat vehicles and cutting-edge embedded technologies supporting mission-critical defense programs.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform hands-on integration and testing of embedded real-time software on complex electronic and electro-mechanical systems in laboratory and tactical vehicle environments.
  • Integrate hardware modules with embedded software to support system-level functionality and performance.
  • Develop, execute, and document software integration, verification, validation, and system-level test activities.
  • Create and execute test plans, test procedures, test scripts, and test cases to validate software requirements and new software releases.
  • Participate in software requirements reviews, design reviews, and code reviews throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop software tools, scripts, and utilities to support testing, automation, and system functionality.
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware and software integration issues using systematic fault isolation and diagnostic techniques.
  • Perform technical analysis, system evaluations, and performance testing using specialized laboratory equipment and engineering software tools.
  • Analyze engineering documentation, design specifications, drawings, software models, and test results to verify compliance with engineering standards, military specifications, and program requirements.
  • Support networking, system configuration, debugging, and software deployment activities within laboratory and vehicle environments.
  • Ensure software products meet established technical, performance, quality, and reliability requirements throughout development and integration.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another STEM-related discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience supporting embedded software development, software integration, software verification, or software testing.
  • Experience integrating and testing embedded real-time software systems.
  • Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: C , C++ , C# , and Python
  • Understanding of modern software engineering methodologies, systems engineering principles, and software design practices.
  • Working knowledge of the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience developing and executing software verification tests and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting military, aerospace, automotive, or other embedded real-time systems.
  • Experience integrating software with complex hardware platforms and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with software automation, scripting, and test framework development.
  • Experience supporting hardware/software integration laboratories.
  • Knowledge of software verification and validation (V&V) methodologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting embedded systems using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, debuggers, or similar engineering tools.
