Job Description:

L3Harris Integrated Vision Solutions Londonderry, a leading designer and manufacturer of laser, night vision and electro-optic devices is seeking a Senior LabVIEW Software Engineer - Level 4 to pursue a career in a fast paced company where new designs become production reality. As a member of our team, you will become a recognized contributor with responsibility for the development of modern military electronic hardware test equipment. A variety of technical qualifications will be required to bring designs from concept to production.

As a Senior LabVIEW Software Engineer you will be responsible for the design, development and execution of software for the equipment test stations used to manufacture and test the L3Harris Integrated Vision Solutions products.

Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include conceptual design, programming, validating and debugging, documenting, and releasing of test equipment software, as well as hands-on involvement in testing and validating the station performance with emphasis in the following areas:ย 

  • Responsible for design, documentation, development, and testing of highly reusable test station software in LabVIEW
  • Responsible for understanding customer (internal/external) and system requirements and translating into software requirements
  • Responsible for preparing and presenting software designs to peers, internal and external customers
  • Participates in integration, debug and test of production equipment software and hardware
  • Responsible for tracking software development features, tasks and defects through release
  • Responsible for software build and release of select projects
  • Participates in software project estimation, planning and execution using both Agile and waterfall methodologies
  • Leads and participates in software design and peer reviews
  • Participates in the development of software processes and best practices
  • Supports, trains, and/or mentors other team members in design best practices
  • Collaborating with other engineering disciplines to develop concept for station design
  • Design the station software to meet the requirements including schedule and cost
  • Troubleshoot/modify current station code for improvements
  • Deep understanding of user requirements in a production environment
  • Interface with power supplies, cameras, oscilloscopes, energy meters, and positioning equipment
  • Intermediate to advance level knowledge of task/project scoping and execution to schedules

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in software engineering.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of Labview development for production test station equipment
  • Experience with programming in LabVIEW
  • Expert knowledge of communications protocols (e.g. USB, RS-232, etc.)
  • Proficient with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Proficient with software configuration management tools.ย  Git preferred.
  • Proficient with feature and defect tracking tools. Jira preferred.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with electrical schematics and circuits
  • Knowledge of production processes and workflows
  • Experience with C, C++ or C# software
  • Experience integrating Manufacturing Execution Systems "MES"
  • Knowledge of opto-mechanical test station design
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with Git and Jira
  • Experience with DevOps tools
  • Experience developing imaging systems
