Job description

Digital Signal Processing Electrical & Computer Engineer

The Opportunity:

Use your electrical and computer engineering skills to develop next‑generation electromagnetic spectrum and electronic warfare capabilities as part of a focused, forward‑looking R&D organization. As a DSP engineer you will design and implement digital signal processing for RF sensing, detection, and response systems, helping the Army advance new technical solutions. Your work will involve signal receive and blind demodulation, signal isolation and identification, waveform and complex signal generation, and adaptive techniques. You will develop prototypes in a lab environment and demonstrate state‑of‑the‑art techniques to client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and optimize DSP algorithms for RF communications and sensing.
  • Develop software‑defined radio (SDR) applications using tools such as GNU Radio and Ettus UHD.
  • Collaborate with embedded software teams to integrate DSP functionality into hardware platforms.
  • Demonstrate capabilities to DoD clients and support their understanding of emerging technologies.
  • Assist in maintaining and upgrades of prototypes and deliverables.
  • Travel regionally up to 25% of the time as required by project commitments.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience with wireless communications systems and signal processing theory and application.
  • Proficiency in Linux and programming languages such as C, C++, or Rust.
  • Experience with Software‑Defined Radio toolkits and standards such as GNU Radio and Ettus UHD.
  • Solid knowledge of DSP and DSP algorithm development.
  • Experience with embedded software development, code optimization, and multithreading.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with machine learning techniques for signal classification.
  • Experience with ARM microprocessors.
  • Experience with RF equipment and testbeds, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Experience with MATLAB or LabVIEW for signal and waveform design.
  • Experience with Git and the Agile software development process.
  • Experience with FPGAs and VHDL or Verilog.
  • Top Secret clearance.
Security Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Compensation & Benefits

Projected annualized salary range: $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (USD). Compensation varies with location, education, experience, and contract demand.

Benefits include health, life, disability, financial, and retirement plans; paid leave; professional development; tuition assistance; work‑life programs; and dependent‑care assistance. All full‑time employees working at least 20 hours per week are eligible for the full benefits package.

Work Model

Remote: Some in‑person requirements may occur at a Booz Allen or customer facility.

Hybrid: Expect frequent on‑site work at a Booz Allen facility, with occasional visits to customer sites.

On‑site: Primary work at a Booz Allen office or customer location, collaborating directly with colleagues and clients.
