Job description

GFL is looking for experienced Industrial Operators to join our team for various short and long-term shutdown projects across British Columbia and Alberta. This position will report to the Seasonal Workforce Group, and together, we will ensure all projects are completed safely and on schedule. This position offers seasonal employment starting in the spring, with potential to work late into the fall and the possibility of extensions.

Job Duties: 

  • Operate various trucks such as vacuum trucks, hydro-vacs, Combo units, Steamers, Chemical cleaning trucks and High-Pressure water blasting pumps and tooling. 

  • Use ELD system (Geotab) and comply to HOS regulations 

  • Maintenance and cleaning of all equipment and tooling  

  • Participate in job site preparation, including labour work, such as the rigging in/out of equipment 

Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Class 1 or 3 drivers’ license with an acceptable commercial 5 year drivers abstract 

  • Proficient driving manual transmission 

  • Willing and able to travel 

  • Egar to learn new skills 

  • Able to take direction and work effectively as part of a team 

  • Capable to work in a team and adapt to new working environments 

  • Mechanical aptitude is an asset 

Working Conditions: 

  • Able to work nightshifts and up to 12 hour shifts, including in inclement weather. 

  • Able to work at heights and enter confined spaces 

  • Capable of standing for long durations, climb stairs and ladders and lift up to 50 lbs
