We approach problems with creativity and innovation. The Seattle, WA office of Schnabel Engineering is seeking an Entry-Level (Staff) Engineer to join our growing practice. We are looking for a motivated candidate with an interest in developing both field and analytical skills, a passion to continue to develop as a professional, and a desire to be part of a strong team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Apply professional principles, complex numerical models, and innovative solutions to real-world problems as part of a team of engineers and scientists while under the supervision of senior engineering personnel.
  • Assistin the preparation of CAD drawings for contract documents and reports with input and guidance from senior engineersin accordance withinternal drafting procedures and guidelines.
  • Prepare complete plans and specifications to be part of construction documents.
  • Develop engineering recommendations andwritetechnical reports.
  • Perform design calculations for hydraulic structures including spillways, dam outlet works, diversion and check structures, measurement flumes, and other various raw water infrastructure.
  • Perform inspections of dams and hydraulic structures.
  • Collect data and measurements in the field.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 0-2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineeringor related field
  • Proficiencywith AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong work ethic and a desire for continual self-improvement
  • Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel, including assignments that may last several months away from the office

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Prior internship or professional work in a related field (i.e.geotechnical engineering, construction, civil engineering, etc.)
  • EIT certification

  • Mustpossessa validU.S.driverโ€™s license as driving is an essential function of the job
  • Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehiclerecordand credit check

The compensation range for this position is between$62,400to $86,000.Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. Weremaincommitted to providing competitive andequitablecompensation to all employees, regardless of their location.
