Laboratory Support Technician Position Summary 

We are actively seeking a Laboratory Support Technician who will be responsible for the identification, collection, and transport of blood for patients of all ages. This associate will also have a wide range of clerical duties and must be responsible for the performance of waived testing procedures. 

Laboratory Support Technician Position Requirements  

Education

  • High school diploma or GED

Required License/Certification

  • Must be able to provide proof of attendance and successful completion of a phlebotomy course through a Nationally Accredited program
  • Possess a certification through a nationally approved accrediting agency or obtain it within one year of employment

Experience

  • Previous laboratory experience preferred.

Laboratory Support Technician Schedule  

  • The Laboratory is staffed seven days a week, twenty-four hours per day.
  • Personnel may be assigned to work mostly one shift or may have a rotational schedule consisting of duty on day, evening and night shifts. Both options may include weekends.
  • Rotational coverage of holidays.
  • Expected to work overtime and/or additional weekends in times of staffing shortages, emergencies and unexpected increases in workload.
  • Expected to respond in the event of a disaster.
