LabCorp is seeking a Laboratory Specimen Processor to join our teamat Ascension St. Mary's inMilwaukee, WI.

Work Schedule: 1st Shift; Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and processing anatomic pathology specimens

  • Accessioning anatomic pathology specimens

  • Preparing and loading tissue processing runs

  • Cutting and staining frozen section tissues

  • Performing maintenance on histology instrumentation

  • Distributing pathology materials

  • Assisting on fine needle aspiration procedures

  • Other tasks including but not limited to: Filing slides and blocks, restocking laboratory supplies

  • Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas

  • Accuratelyidentifyand label specimens

  • Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities

  • Meet department activity and production goals

  • Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples

  • Data entry of patient information inan accurateandtimelymanner

  • Resolve and document any problem specimens

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Six months or more clinical or medical industry work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 months or more clinical specimen processing or specimen receiving experience

AdditionalJobStandards:

  • Comfortable handling biological specimens

  • Ability to accuratelyidentifyspecimens

  • Experience working in a team environment

  • Strong data entry and organizational skills

  • High levelof attention to detail

  • Proficient in MS Office
