Hematology Oncology Associates was established in Palm Beach County over 35 years ago, and has grown to include 10 Board Certified Hematologist and Oncologists and 6 Nurse Practitioners in 3 convenient locations within our community. Our goals are to provide state of the art cancer treatments with a high level of compassionate care in a warm inviting environment. We also specialize in treatment of coagulation blood disorders, leukemias and other hematologic benign conditions. At Hematology Oncology Associates of the Palm Beaches, we believe that together, we will work to drive a better life outcome for our community.

Job Description:
  • Utilizes technical skills and abilities to accurately handle and process specimens
  • Follows laboratory procedures for specimen processing and maintains quality control of sLabpecimen samples.
  • Correctly identifies proper tubes, containers, transport media, and storage temperature for each test type
  • Determines specimen acceptability, consulting with specimen processing supervisor, technologist, or pathologist as needed taking appropriate action when necessary
  • Understands and follows all safety, infection control, and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines
  • Operate standard laboratory equipment and some specialized equipment.
  • Demonstrates efficiency by performing procedures rapidly and determining priority
  • Record testing information and files laboratory reports.
  • Inventory and order laboratory and office supplies.
  • Communicates with laboratory staff and its clients to ensure quality patient care.
  • Respects and maintains the confidentiality of information relative to practice and patients.
  • Clean and restock laboratory facility.
  • Maintain a safe environment in the laboratory.
  • Enthusiastically performs miscellaneous duties with completion in a designated time frame.
  • Travels to satellite locations and floats to other clinics if needed
  • Maintains and works with flow cytometry equipment efficiently and accurately
