POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the administration, management and supervision of the laboratory in consultation with the medical laboratory director (pathologist). Manage and supervise the laboratory to assure quality services on a 24-hour basis. Ensure regulatory compliance with CAP, AHCA, TJC, CLIA, CMS and corporate policies and procedures. Manage laboratory resources, promote teamwork with all healthcare providers and facilitate internal and external customer satisfaction. Assist students in the specific areas for development of technical, clinical and problem solving. Perform addition duties as needed or assigned.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your role is to be an effective leader by coaching and developing your staff, collaborating, building teams, solving problems, taking initiative, analyzing, planning, managing change, accepting responsibility, setting and reviewing objectives, exercising control, making decisions, motivating others, supporting employee initiative, and building trust and commitment.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):

  • Baccalaureate or equivalent degree in medical technology, chemical, physical or biological science
  • Master's in Business or Health Administration preferred
  • Current Florida licensure as Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in two or more specialties
  • Must be ASCP-DLM Certified
  • Meets CLIA 88 qualifications as General Technical Supervisor, National Registry preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience required
  • Experience as a Director in a hospital Laboratory is preferred
  • Proven track record of leadership, personnel and financial management skills
